Mallory's Journal
001
I'm still catching my breath (figuratively, because I don't need to) from all the running and jumping off of vehicles to get to this town, I forgot what's it called. Oh cut me some slack, I may be a wizard but a humanoid brain can only store so much and I'm old, of course I'll tend to forget things. That's why I keep a journal. I even forgot the name of the birdfolk library personnel who accommodated me, they say they know Rohan, my mentor who contacted this library to take me. I needed some place to hide after I escaped Balay. They immediately gave me a job too.
Today seems to be festive outside, perhaps it would be a slow day at work.
The last time I attended a festival at the Balay, my friends and I were able to freed some prisoners that are supposed to be sacrificed in the festival. I hope they're okay. I need to make peace with the fact that I'll never see my friends again. Wherever I am, this is my new life now.

Maybe stepping outside won't hurt, besides it's almost sundown, glad I still have the ring my father gave me so the sun won't hurt that much. Besides, I kept hearing the kids say, "Touch some grass". I'm now curious if there's something about the grass in here.

Goodness. My purse got drained from the festivities and thieves, sucked dry more than any vampire could do.
Also, I regret to report that there's nothing special with the grass.
I should be more careful because I almost kicked a halfling and I sent a fairy flying. Anyway, I didn't catch their names, well to be fair, when meeting fairies or faes, giving out names is not something safe to do. I learned the hard way.
The lights are turning out one by one and skies are getting darker I can't write further in this journal with this.
Here we go again.
